Rectoscopy
It is an intervention that allows visual examination of the last part of the large intestine (rectum, sigmoid colon) with the help of a luminous device. Before the procedure, it is sufficient for the patient to come hungry and use an enema for intestinal emptying. Anesthesia is not required for the procedure, it is not painful, the procedure is performed lying on a special examination table, the procedure time does not exceed 3-5 minutes, biopsy can be taken in pathological cases (tumor, ulcer, etc...) seen during the same procedure. The procedure is performed with a rigid (unbendable) tube called a rectoscope, which gives light spontaneously. If possible, it can also be performed with a flexible endoscope.
