Breast Augmentation

Breast Augmentation

Breast aesthetics includes surgical procedures to improve breast size, shape and appearance. These operations include breast augmentation, breast reduction, breast lift and various other breast aesthetic procedures. In addition to aesthetic concerns, breast aesthetics is also performed to provide physical comfort and increased self-confidence.

The postoperative process is as follows:

Hospital Discharge: The patient can be discharged from the hospital on the day of surgery or the next day and return to daily life.
Bandage and Stitches: The chest area remains bandaged for about a week. Since hidden stitches are applied, there are no stitches to be removed on the skin surface.
Recovery Period: Heavy lifting and arm-intensive exercises should be avoided for three weeks. During this period, support should be provided with a sports bra.

As with all surgeries, breast augmentation surgery has its own risks and problems. Here are the possible risks and complications of this surgery:

Capsular Contracture:

Definition: A layer called capsule formed by the body around the prosthesis may develop.
Consequence: This layer can compress the prosthesis and cause it to shift, making the breasts appear asymmetrical and hard.
Risk Factors: Prostheses placed under the muscle have a lower risk of capsular contracture than those placed above the muscle.
Treatment: Capsular contracture can be treated in a variety of ways and sometimes requires removal or relaxation of the capsule. In some cases, the prosthesis itself may need to be removed and replaced.

Bleeding Bleeding may occur after surgery.
Infection: The risk of infection is present here as in any surgical intervention.
Wound Healing: There may be delays in wound healing.

Sensitivity There may be temporary tenderness or decreased sensation in the nipples after surgery.
